A NYT article I read last weekend tipped me off to this Amazon price tracker: Camel Camel Camel

It’s nice when other people and bots do the drudge work for us. But make sure you’re not being sold a different bill of goods under the guise of “we save you time and money.”

Don’t forget that your time and money have value, too. It might not be worth that $3 (or 10 cent a gallon) discount if you have to spend more than that in time, gas, etc. just to get that discount.

But you do the calculation. Some of us have time and no money, others have money and no time, and some have little of either.

    I’ve started using a new price tracker site at http://buyerninja.com Their price history charts are easier to read than on the CCC site, and they have some very interesting things in their deals section. In general, it’s much easier and more pleasant to use.

    I’ve been using a site called PriceWombat that seems to work better than CamelCamelCamel and many of the other price tracking websites out there.

    They also have a “deals” section that automatically links deals to products, so if you click the button to view the price tracking data on a retailer, in addition to showing the price tracking information it will show you any coupons or deals available for that product.
