OSPIRG Oregon Renters’ Handbook, 10th edition

By

OSPIRG has updated their Oregon Renters’ Handbook.

There is not a date to be found in the Handbook itself, but the OSPIRG Oregon Renters’ Handbook webpage says, 10th edition, updated 8/8/12, and that’s good enough for me in this instance.

I am in a month to month rental situation in a house with four other housemates…recently the landlord gave me a 30 day notice to vacate, with unclear reasons to do so…I am partially disabled with a very limited social security income…although I really don’t want to leave (all the logistics of living here are good for me) and I get along with the other tenants, pay my rent on time, etc, I tried looking for another place during that 30 day period, but was not able to find one…at the end of the 30 days the landlord agreed to let me stay because of my circumstances…I paid him full rent for the month…his expectation is for me to then leave or he will file eviction against me…during these past 30 days I have not been able to actively look elsewhere due to health issues…my question is this…since he took full rent for the current month (he also has a full month’s deposit when I moved in) does he have to give me another 30 day notice before he can file for eviction…I have done nothing criminal or anything close to that during the time I have been here…I would appreciate some info on this…thank you……..
