Do the journalists, bloggers, and talking heads who refer endlessly to “Title 42” when speaking or writing about immigration and border issues (usually the U.S. Mexico border) know what Title 42 is? Can those “reporters” cite the exact law? Have they read the so-called “Title 42?”

Saying “Title 42” is about as useful as hearing a radio or podcast host say “it’s Tuesday and it’s 20 minutes past the hour” (which Tuesday and what hour?!), or a subject line that says “Don’t miss today’s meeting!” (“today” has no meaning online, without a date!), or the so-called market reports saying “yesterday, the market ended up 13%” (what market, up from or to what?!). It’s meaningless, which listeners and readers know, but seemingly not the talking heads. Sigh.

The RRT’s Eviction Diversion Lab invites you to a policy briefing with officials from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) who will offer insights about and answer questions concerning a recent Interim Rule issued in support of the CDC’s eviction moratorium. Excellent CFR News: CFR Table of Contents

“Cornell Legal Information Institute has released an online version of the CFR.  This new online edition of the CFR is the result of an unprecedented two-year collaboration between the Government Printing Office (GPO), the Legal Information Institute at Cornell Law School (LII), and the Cornell Law Library. …

The project implemented features that have been often requested by government regulators, corporate counsel, and law librarians. The LII’s edition of the CFR has the same search and navigation features that have made its edition of the United States Code the leading free, online source for Federal statutes for over a decade.”
