What Happens if Your Library Systems Go Down?
For full-fledged disasters (floods, fire, earthquakes, hurricanes, shooters, bomb threats, bombs, building collapse, etc.) check with your managers, your organization, and your local librarian community for specific and recommended disaster planning checklists. (And if they don’t help, use The Google! Don’t let others’ failure to prepare become your disaster.)
Expertise needed by 21st Century Library Managers: Money, Privacy, Copyright, Licensing, and Education Law … that is, the same skills professional librarians needed in the 20th and 19th centuries!
But user, funder, and governing body assumptions and expectations of what libraries can be and knowledge of how libraries are managed have changed:
